BUTLER PERSONNEL PARACHUTES

  REPACK INTERVAL EXTENDED BY FAA

Repack Interval is now 180 days

Effective December 19, 2008, the FAA has increased the period between mandatory repacks for skydivers and pilots. The previous rule, required that parachutes manufactured of synthetic fibers be repacked by a certificated and appropriately rated parachute rigger within the preceding 120 days. The new regulation extends this period to 180 days.

All Butler personnel parachutes that are subject to this rule (i.e. emergency pilot rigs subject to TSO Authorization) must have been inspected and repacked within the preceding 180 days.

This requirement does not affect non-TSO items such as Unmanned Aircraft or Cargo Parachutes.

Butler Parachute Systems Inc. provides inspection and repack services on Butler-manufactured products. For more information please contact us at rigging@butlerparachutes.com.

Please see the joint press release from the United States Parachute Association/Parachute Industry Association and the federal register notification for further information.
